How Do We Help
Hoover Helps creates and support programs that help meet the basic needs of children in Hoover. We work with faith-based organizations and local companies to help children in need.
Backpack feeding programs provide weekend food to children that are food insecure. We work with and support 13 faith-based organizations that operate weekend programs. We also work with other groups to create additional ways to provide food to children and help provide other items of need.
Neighborhood Bridges Hoover is an internet platform that empowers our school counselors to post individual needs. Needs are posted, then circulated via email and social media to people in our community. By simply clicking the “I can help” button, needs are filled and delivered by counselors to the child in need. Please visit neighborhood bridges Hoover and sign up using your email address.
All elementary and middle schools in the hoover city school system have active backpack feeding programs.
